The Athens Jazz Festival, a daylong concert featuring local jazz musicians, will take place May 16 from 1-7 p.m. on the lawn of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. The free concert is hosted by WUGA-FM 91.7, UGA’s public radio station. Performers in this year’s concert are Classic City Swing, a 17-piece big band; singer Mary Sigalas; UGA jazz professor David D’Angelo, a veteran of the Buddy Rich band; and Carl Lindbergh of the band Grogus.
