- The University of Georgia (UGA) is home to the Beta Gamma chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha (or Tri-Alpha) – a national honor society recognizing the academic achievements of first-generation students (defined as coming from a family where neither parent nor any legal guardian earned a bachelor’s degree). To qualify, you must be a current degree candidate at UGA. Graduate students must have completed at least one term of study, nine or more graduate credits, and have a GPA in their graduate program of at least 3.5/4.0.
